Philosophy

We want your kids to look forward to church, to see it is as a place that is fun, gracious, warm and loving. We believe that learning happens best in a playful, open and safe environment. We also know how hard it is to get your kids to church and we want to make it as easy as possible.  We want your children to LOVE church! Therefore, if there is anything we can do to make your child(ren)’s experience (or yours!) more enjoyable, please let us know! Children’s Ministry Director Caroline Kerr and Head Minister R-J Heijmen can be reached at ckerr@stpaulsnyc.org and rheijmen@stpaulsnyc.org.

Programs for Children (Infants - 10 years old)

Every week we will spend some time playing, singing, eating, discussing and praying. We will also match the children’s program to the sermon and provide you with a summary sheet so that you can continue the discussion at home. Infants and toddlers will have their own separate space and supervisor within the larger space, so that they can either “do their own thing” or be part of the “big kids” program.

Programs for Students (Grades 6-12)

Students grades 6-12 are encouraged to attend the main worship service with their parents. Every week they will be able to pick up a journal on their way into the service, in which they can write any thoughts or question that they may have, no holds barred! After dropping off their journals at the end of the service, their entries will then be answered, on a weekly basis, by Rev. Heijmen. For information about other events, Bible studies and camps for Middle and High School students, contact R-J Heijmen at rheijmen@stpaulsnyc.org.

Baptism & Confirmation

If you or child is interested in Baptism (any age) or Confirmation (ages 12 & up), please contact Rev. Heijmen at rheijmen@stpaulsnyc.org to set up a meeting.
